Opening

Official opening of the Swiss Radiation Museum

For over ten years, blasters and mineral enthusiasts from the Upper Valais worked to build a museum about the passion and craft of blasting in the old war fortress in Naters. Good things come to those who wait…

On Friday, 31 August 2018, the responsible persons were allowed to officially present the museum to the public. And with justifiable pride. After all, years of work went into building the museum. Starting with raising money and ending with countless hours of work on the interior. So you could say it was a long road and also a path of suffering from time to time. It has become a museum about radiating and searching for crystals in the mountains. Not just another mineral museum, of which there are already several in Switzerland, but a museum dedicated to the craft of the radiator.

The then President of the State Council, Esther Waeber-Kalbermatten, and former Governor and Vice-President of Naters, Diego Wellig, took the floor at the opening. The speeches were followed by the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, even though for once it was not a red ribbon.
