Who

We are an association of people who search minerals or who are strongly connected to the world of minerals and who want to protect and preserve this ancient craft of crystal seeking.

What

We want to show the searching for crystals in a museum. There are already many museums about crystals. But the Schweizer Strahlermuseum is the first one dedicated to the seek for minerals.

Where

The Schweizer Strahlermuseum is integrated in the old fortress of Naters (VS). This has its reason. Crystal seeking fits very well in the mountain. In addition, this fortress already houses two museums, the Fortress Museum, and the Museum of the Pontifical Swiss Guard. This creates synergies that facilitate operations.

Why

For over 2000 years, people have been seeking minerals in the Swiss mountains. So crystal seeking is an ancient craft that is part of our cultural heritage. We show, document and honor this in this museum.

How do you become a member?
With the annual contribution of Fr. 50.- or the one-time contribution of Fr. 500.- you become a member of the Schweizer Strahlermuseum Association.
